RAMP’s field staff and regular contact with the Martin County community enable informed, coordinated, hands-on recovery to emergencies. RAMP is able to quickly identify and provide basic needs like food and water in the wake of natural and economic disasters.
For instance, on March 2, 2012 Martin County was hit very hard by tornadoes. More than 135 homes were affected by the tornadoes and 42 homes destroyed, plus thousands of residents that lost power and water. All schools were closed and many families with children lost everything they had.
